Educational Programs

Minimizing the impact of mental illness on the community is a primary goal of St. Clair’s Psychiatry and Mental Health Services. Throughout the year, our professional staff conducts educational programs for community and business groups on a wide range of topics, including stress management and the signs and symptoms of depression.

Support Groups

Our two general mental health support groups provide the help and education to better live with the challenges of mental illness. Families are welcome to attend both groups:

  • Bridgeville Public Library, 505 McMillen Street in Bridgeville
    Meets the first Tuesday of each month from 6:30–7:45 p.m., and the third Tuesday of each month from 11:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

  • Christ United Methodist Church, 44 Highland Road in Bethel Park
    Meets on the second and fourth Thursday of each month (except July) from 7:30–9:00 p.m.

Baby Steps

St. Clair’s Psychiatry and Mental Health and Women and Children Services departments have partnered to provide this support group for expecting and new moms who are dealing with the emotional transitions of pregnancy and motherhood.

  • St. Clair Hospital Medical Library, 4th Floor
    Meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.

Postpartum Depression

Welcoming a baby into the world is a time of great joy. But for some new moms, the major life changes involved can cause a variety of postpartum disorders, including depression, anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive, panic or post-traumatic stress disorders.
